Pleasant Valley Farm
"We love being able to offer our customers an alternative to beef. We have used goat meat from Pleasant Valley Farm on several occasions as a feature for our burger of the week and our customers love it!"
~BLACK HILLS BURGER & BUN--Christie Smith
Pleasant Valley Farm is located on 120 acres of Southern Black Hills land and, outside the fences, is surrounded by beautiful Forest Service Land. Of this 120 acres, 40 acres is grass/alfalfa hay land for winter feed. The remaining acreage is broken into 17 pastures with water and shelter in each. We take pride in using a rotational grazing system within all of our primarily grass pastures.
Pleasant Valley Farm takes pride in not only their farm, but also in their impact on the community and the land. Tom was recently elected to the board of directors for the South Dakota Specialty Producers Association and South Dakota State University's Extension Services has contracted with Pleasant Valley Farms to assist with development on goat husbandry on Tribal Lands in South Dakota.
Finally, we are constantly looking for new producers. In this effort we will always be available to assist any potential and current producers with using the best management practices for the goat industry.
